Living with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma: One Survivor’s Story
When I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2018, I was scared and uncertain of what the future held. I had no idea what to expect, and I was overwhelmed by the thought of having to go through chemotherapy and radiation treatments. But I was determined to fight and beat this disease.
Fast forward two years later, and I am proud to say that I am a Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor. It has been a long and difficult journey, but I am grateful for the support I have received from my family, friends, and medical team.
Living with Hodgkin’s lymphoma has been a roller coaster of emotions. I have experienced moments of fear, sadness, and anger, but I have also experienced moments of joy, hope, and strength. I have learned to take each day as it comes and to focus on the positive.
One of the most difficult aspects of living with Hodgkin’s lymphoma has been the physical side effects of the treatments. I have experienced fatigue, nausea, hair loss, and other side effects. I have also had to adjust to the changes in my body, such as the loss of muscle mass and the changes in my skin.
I have also had to learn to cope with the emotional side effects of living with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I have had to learn to accept my diagnosis and to find ways to cope with the fear and anxiety that come with it. I have also had to learn to be patient with myself and to take things one day at a time.
I am thankful for the support I have received from my family, friends, and medical team. They have been there for me every step of the way and have helped me to stay positive and motivated.
My experience with Hodgkin’s lymphoma has taught me a lot about myself and about life. I have learned to appreciate the little things and to be grateful for each day. I have also learned to be kind to myself and to take care of my mental and physical health.
Living with Hodgkin’s lymphoma has been a challenging experience, but I am thankful for the lessons I have learned and the strength I have gained. I am proud to be a Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor and I am determined to continue to fight and beat this disease.
